Join us for a transformative three-day storytelling and interviewing workshop at the New York Public Library, crafted to refine your narrative and interviewing prowess. On Day One, we delve into storytelling fundamentals, focusing on pivotal moments in your life. The day begins with personal introductions, followed by a session on brainstorming and journaling to capture your story ideas. We'll explore various emotions and scenarios to deepen your stories, such as moments of joy, challenge, or transformation, and conclude with a partner practice session to share and refine these narratives.
Day Two expands on this foundation by grouping participants to share stories around themes like overcoming fears, forgiveness, achieving dreams, family heritage, and the impact of travel. This interactive setup encourages personal reflection, peer sharing, and feedback, enhancing your storytelling scope and empathy.
On the final day, we transition to interviewing techniques, leveraging the storytelling skills from the initial days. You'll learn essential interview preparation, how to create a comfortable and engaging environment for your guest, and strategies for asking open-ended questions that draw out meaningful stories. Through group exercises and reviewing real interview examples, participants will practice these new skills in real-time, gaining confidence and insight into the art of interviewing.
This workshop is ideal for anyone looking to elevate their storytelling and interviewing abilities, whether for personal enjoyment, professional communication, or crafting compelling narratives that resonate with audiences.
